Not many individuals can boast the credentials of a wrestler like Hawk Henshaw! The superstar originally born Heriberto Santos Pacheco is one of the sport's biggest names. The Texas native made his debut in 1987 at the age of 16 as the mysterious "El Gallego". This ring name is a reference to Henshaw's Latino roots from his mother's side. Hawk's path to superstardom began when he briefly moved to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina at he age of 10. It was there that he met his father an immigrant from the UK named Pierce Henshaw. Pierce himself was a popular star in the United Kingdom but eventually decided to lend his talents to training superstars instead of being in the sport's spotlight.
Eventually, Hawk would cast aside the El Gallego after losing a hair vs mask match against one of his famed rivals named Javier Cortes, (Henshaw's first opponent he wrestled professionally). It was there that the young superstar would break out on his own and become the icon he is today. Re-christening himself "The Experience" Hawk Henshaw, we would see a whole new attitude and demeanor in the young star. His inspiration for the name Hawk Henshaw came from his time living with his father in Kitty Hawk and of course the Henshaw part was taken in honor of his father.
Along the way Henshaw would have his first taste of championship gold in the Universal Wrestling League, it would be the first of many World title reigns. From there Henshaw's career would go even further with his debut in the XBWL after chasing out his brother Jim Henshaw (Who was running around as "Hollywood" Hawk Henshaw, a name Henshaw never used.) Over the years Henshaw would amass many honors in the XBWL including the distinction of Triple Crown Champion (World, International and Tag Team Championships) and representing the XBWL in the 2000 Suicide Interfed Tournament that the legendary Michael Wilkins had promoted.
Following his departure from the XBWL, Hawk Henshaw would wrestle the majority of the next five years overseas. Although he did return to wrestle a few US dates over the years including an appearance at the XBWL Reunion Show in 2002. In 2003, the winding down of Henshaw's career was foreshadowed when he started his own TV talk show. An instant success, Henshaw would find himself making a quiet retirement in 2005 after wrestling a match in Madrid, Spain with protege Brandon Thornton.
Three years later the wrestling bug would bite Hawk Henshaw and he made a triumphant return to the squared circle with the Phoenix Wrestling Association (Which has since merged with the AWR to become the PWR). This led to a reigniting of his feud with his tag team partner/best friend Nick Stevenson. Since that time they have patched things up and have reformed their team known as V.I.P. In 2009, Henshaw would defend the legacy of the XBWL against the brash Brett MacLeod, the legend killer of the sport who called himself "The Future's Finest". At PWR Revolution Rising, Henshaw would vie for the XBWL World Title one more time and defeat MacLeod in dramatic fashion to redeem the memory of the legendary organization and win the legendary title for the third time in his career. This victory marks his eighth World Championship overall. There is no denying that Hawk Henshaw is indeed back and here to say, what does the future hold for this legendary superstar? Only time will tell...
